Update: Take the information in this post with a grain, a big grain of salt. Sweatcoin, in my opinion, has lost its way and you may want to read my newest post before you spend any money on Sweatcoin: Is Sweatcoin a Scam?
Sweatcoins has introduced a new and exciting way to spend the coins you earn by walking with the Sweatcoin App. So, what are sweatcoin auctions? Are they worth it? How do sweatcoin auctions work?
I have been using the Sweatcoin app for almost a year now and have earned nearly 12,000 Sweatcoins by walking with the app running and watching ads on the app. Until now, I knew that it would be at least 18 months until I could buy something of real value. That really hasn’t changed much, but there now seem to be more choices with the new Sweatcoin auctions.
The new Sweatcoin Auctions give you a chance to purchase great items for coins that you earn from using the Sweatcoin app. The auctions started in October of 2020 and to date, the merchandise that has been won at auction is in the neighborhood of 20,000 Sweatcoins for $1,000 value.
If you are brand new to Sweatcoin, let me give you a quick explanation of what Sweatcoin is and how it works. For a more detailed look into the Sweatcoin app, check out my in-depth review : How Much Can You Make With Sweatcoin?
What Is Sweatcoin?
The Sweatcoin app was developed to help you be more active and to reward you for walking or running, or even skipping, for that matter. The app counts your steps and converts them into Sweatcoins, which can be used in the Sweatcoin Auctions.
It’s going to take a bunch of steps to compete in the Sweatcoin auctions. (I’m going to use round numbers here) For every mile you walk, you earn 2 Sweatcoins. So, far items in the auctions have been going for 8,000 to around 20,000 Sweatcoins. That means to have a winning bid on the, even on the low side, you would have to walk 4,000 MILES. Most folks won’t be doing that in a week or 2.
There are other ways to earn Sweatcoins, however. You can earn a handful per day by watching 3 ads. I average between 2 and 10 daily. You can also boost your earning potential by purchasing a special tier on Sweatcoin called the “Troublemaker” tier. Once again, I have written a detailed post on the Troublemaker if you would like to learn more about it.
In a nutshell though, with the Troublemaker, your steps count double and you can earn (with the doubled steps) up to 50 Sweatcoins per day. Now that really can add up fast, but you would have to walk about 12.5 miles per day to earn that much. Keep in mind that this 50/ day max does not include the Sweatcoins earned by watching ads.
How Do Sweatcoin Auctions Work What Are The Rules?
The auction process is pretty straightforward. The Sweatcoin app offers several offers per week. Once the product is on the blocks, Sweatcoin users can place a bid by simply tapping a “Raise Bid” button, and selecting a bid that is higher than the previous bid. This bid must be 0.1 Sweatcoin more than the last.
The auctions, so far, have been lasting about 2 days. There is a countdown timer running continuously on the app. Once the timer reaches zero, the winning bidder gets the prize, after Sweatcoin verifies that the user has earned his coins legitimately. According to Sweatcoin, the prizes will be delivered within 30 days of the end of the auction.
To be clear, these auctions are not like those scammy pay-to-bid auction sites. I won’t name names, but honest and free, my a$$. The site I have in mind rhymes with MealMash. Anyway, these Sweatcoin auctions are legit. They simply give you a time frame and accept the highest bid at the closing time.
What Can You Buy On a Sweatcoin Auction?
As you can see, the $1000 Amazon gift card was won by the 39th bidder for 19,900 Sweatcoins. So, to earn that gift card you would have to have had walked almost 10,000 miles (only 5,000 if you purchase the Troublemaker Tier for $12.99 per year) give or take.
The Samsung TV is about the same price. You can see the current price on Amazon below.
These 2 finished auctions show similar values, but I guess $500 in cosmetics isn’t quite the same as $500 in Amazon gift cards. The Current price of the Mavic Air 2 Drone can be found below.
I just put these in this post to give you an idea of what your Sweatcoins are worth and what they can buy in the Sweatcoin auctions. There is not an exact dollar for Sweatcoin exchange rate, but from the auctions so far, this is how much things are costing, around 20k Sweatcoins for $1,000.
There are some exceptions to this, very general valuation. For example, the Oculus Quest 2 sold for 11,999.99 Sweatcoins. At this price the Oculus Quest 2 should be valued close to $600 in real money, but as you can see below, it is quite a bit less than that.
On the other hand, the auction below that has ended, awarded a $1000 Nike gift card for a winning bid of 16,200.01. This is a very nice discount to the rounded 20k sweatcoins per $1k. So, there are deals to be had…if you have the steps to pay for them.
What Does It Take To Win a Sweatcoin Auction?
So, what does it take? how do you win one of these Sweatcoin auctions? Well, it’s 2 fold.
- Walk a bunch, and I mean a whole bunch. So far the item that costs the least was 8,566 Sweatcoins. That is the equivalent of walking over 4000 MILES, and if you pay $12.99 for a year it’s the equivalent of over 2000 miles. That will take you some time, partner.
- Take those accumulated steps and pay attention to the app. Once you have the coins needed to compete, and that looks like around 10k to have a chance at a $500 prize and somewhere in the upper teens for a $1000 prize.
- ( I suppose there might be a bit of luck toward the end of the auction, but if you have enough Sweatcoins…you won’t have to sweat it. 🙂
Final Thoughts
These Sweatcoin auctions are a great addition to the app and may really supply some longevity to the offerings available to the app users. I am a little disappointed by the loss of the marathon offers, but for the time being, it looks like once you have accumulated enough steps, you have a good chance to bid on, and win, some really nice merchandise.
Thanks for reading and remember…

How to place bid? I got a problem my swc is enough to place higher bid but it say my swc didn’t enough? I need some help about this
I have not had this problem. In the 2 auctions I have placed bids in, I was able to increase my bid until I did not have enough Sweatcoins. You might try info@sweatco.in They have taken a long time to reply to some of my questions though.
I won an auction for a $50 Amazon Card. I got a code but I don’t know how to get the card? It’s been more than a month since the auction was finished and I’m still waiting to see the $50. Is there a link to enter my code to get my winning award?
I would assume that the code you won (congratulations, by the way) could be used on Amazon.com using the redemption feature. Other than that, I would contact Sweatcoin, but that could take a while.
I went to Amazon and used the Sweatcoin “code” I got from my winning bid. That didn’t work because it had too few digits. What I need is the link from Sweatcoin to apply the “code”. I wrote an email with pictures of my winning bid to Sweatcoin but got no response. What is the correct Sweatcoin email for customer service? If I can’t get my Amazon gift card I want my 15,035 Sweatcoin dollars returned.
Hi Nic,
According to the Sweatcoin website, the contact email is info@sweatco.in Just to be clear, I have no affiliation with Sweatcoin, I just write about my experience with them. Good luck.
