How Much do you Make on Mistplay? (Detailed Analysis)

I hope to answer all of the nagging questions that you have about Mistplay. I will show you how many hours you have to play to earn gift cards. I will show you the best ways to optimize your playing time to earn as much as possible, and I will show you my results so you have a good understanding of what to expect. Let’s start with the very basic of questions: How much do you make on Mistplay?

It took me 19 hours to earn my first $10 Amazon gift card using the Mistplay app, and I earned my second gift card in about 16 hours of gameplay. So, on average I earned about $0.57 per hour playing games on my phone with the Mistplay app. Want to earn gift cards by playing games on your phone?

There are a few tricks to earning those gift cards faster. Read on to find out more.

Here is a screenshot of the first time I earned enough to get an Amazon gift card by playing games on Mistplay:

As you can see, it took me 19 hours and 43 minutes to earn exactly 3000 units. A $10 Amazon gift card (or a Visa gift card, or GameStop, Xbox, Google Play, PlayStation, Itunes, Starbucks, ebay, or Nintendo gift card…any of those $10 gift cards) costs exactly 3000 units that you can earn on Mistplay by playing games on your phone.

Let’s add some more numbers before we break them all down. Here is a screenshot of when I broke the 6000 unit barrier.

I was able to earn the second card faster for a number of different reasons that I will get to in just a minute, but first, I want to take these numbers and see what we can extrapolate if I were to earn the same about an keep it up for a month or more.

If you were to play games on Mistplay for 10 hours a day, you could theoretically earn $5.70 per day by playing games. That would be about $171 for the month. Or more precisely 17 $10-gift cards. With a few units left over to start building for next month.

Remember, when I say “play” games, I don’t mean you actually have to be playing the game. You can interact with your phone just enough to keep the screen from going black. I currently have a game going on my phone as I am typing this post and I just touch the screen every minute or two. It’s not entirely passive, but pretty close.

Don’t use auto-scroll apps on Mistplay! It is against the Terms of Service and they will ban you!

How do you Earn Units on Mistplay?

It’s easy. You download Mistplay on your smartphone. Then you set up a free account. Once you have your account setup, you choose a game to play and you play. But here’s the thing, you don’t really have to play to earn units on Mistplay.

That’s right, I have a slots game on “auto-spin” right now, as I write this. You see, Mistplay pays you units for the amount of TIME you are on a game. You only have to interact enough to keep your screen from turning off. I have loaded a game and just sat in the lobby and have leveled up on Misplay.

So, to earn a $10 gift card, you don’t actually have to sit around for 16 hours playing games, you just have to have your phone on Mistplay for that long, which reminds me. It’s best to have your charger handy if you plan to spend this much time on Mistplay. It will run your battery down!

Back to earning Units. There are dozens of games to choose from, but they are ranked by Mistplay. Some earn units at the regular rate, some at half the regular rate. Some of the games you can earn units at 4 times the regular rate and Mistplay also “boosts” some games for a short time where you can earn up to 8 times the regular rate.

Here is a chart on how long it took me to earn units at the regular rate. (Keep in mind that you need to earn 3000 units for a $10 gift card)

Going From Level…Units EarnedTime spent on level
1 to 25 units5 min
2 to 310 units7 min
3 to 415 units14 min
4 to 520 units29 min
5 to 625 units40 min

At this rate you may think, that it would take forever to earn 3000 units, (and you would be right) but keep reading and see how you can double, triple, or even octuple your earnings!

What are GXP and PXP?

GXP is just a fancy way of calculating how long you spend on a particular game. For instance, you need to earn 500 GXP to move from level 1 to level 2, which I found out takes about 5 minutes. As the levels go up, so does the required GXP (time) needed to move to the next level.

PXPs are the total experience points that you, as the player, earn across all games. As these points add up, you will level up as a player and earn more units.

How can you Earn Units Faster on Mistplay?

There are several ways to increase the number of units you earn while decreasing the time you need to spend on the app. First, you will want to choose a game with the highest “unit multiplier.”

Each game on Mistplay has a unit multiplier, shown in 0-4 dots. A game with 1 dot will earn units at the rate in the chart above. A game with 4 dots will earn 4 times what the chart above shows. For example: If you play a game with 4 dots and go from level 1 to 2, you will earn 20 units (5 units multiplied by 4 dots). So, it just makes sense to play games with more “dots”.

Second, each game offers different bonuses specific to that game. For instance, you can earn 5 units for simply playing 20 minutes on most games.

A third way to “boost” your unit earnings is to play games that Mistplay boosts for a short time. From time to time, Mistplay will double the number of units you can earn playing a game. As I type this post, Mistplay is boosting the Big Farm game. Normally, the game pays 3x the regular amount of units, but for the next seven hours or so, it will pay 6 units as you reach each level. So, when I go from level 1 to level 2, instead of just 5 units, I will receive 30!

The last way you can maximize your unit earnings on Mistplay is to play for at least 5 minutes a day. At the end of each week, Mistplay will reward you with extra units each week if you don’t miss a day of play. These bonus units are capped at 35 units a week at the end of your 5th week. After your 5th week, you will earn 35 units every week just for playing 5 minutes a day. These are in addition to the PXP and GXP

Limitations on Earning Units on Mistplay

One thing you have to be aware of is that Mistplay will stop awarding units after 2 hours on one game. This resets each day, but you will want to make sure to keep track of the time so you are not playing a game and not getting credit because of the 2-hour limit. It’s easy to keep earning, though. Just switch games when you hit the 2-hour limit. Then you can repeat the process the next day.

Watch out for Battery Drain. Mistplay will drain your battery quickly. So, if you are going to have it running all day, you will definitely need to be near a power source.

Final Thoughts

I have written a couple of posts about Mistplay. you can read Is Mistplay Legit? if you want to find out a little more. But one thing I mentioned in that article is that Mistplay should be used for what it is. You can drum up some money ($150-$200) in a month, which isn’t shabby for just messing with your phone, but there are a ton of ways to make way more money.

If you have even a shred of writing ability, you can start freelance writing and earn hundreds of dollars a day. Of course, you would need a computer, which you could save up for and buy from Amazon in a couple of months using Mistplay. If you want to make money online, Mistplay can get you started, but it is not a destination. If you want to play games on your phone and earn a gift card every now and then, then Mistpay is perfect for you!

That’s all I have for you today. Remember:

Earn what you’re worth…and MORE!!!
